The Clay Room

The identity is not applied after the restaurant — it is made alongside it.

The mark

A kiln, a door and a vessel.

The outer arch is the kiln body. Its inner opening becomes a door and the profile of a tall ceramic vessel. Horizontal firing lines hold the mark to the earth.

03 · The service

Made for what each piece will carry.

The tableware is a working part of the food. Raw terracotta warms bread at the table, celadon lifts the colour of vegetables and smoke-black stoneware absorbs the glow of the hearth.

The collection is related rather than matched. Firing scars, quiet changes in glaze and the hand at the rim are deliberately kept.

The material language

Editorial type. Useful texture.

Typography

An expressive serif carries the warmth and irregularity of the handmade. A quiet sans serif holds menu detail, wayfinding and practical information.

Texture

Clay edges, ash, scorched paper and glaze variation are used as material evidence, never as a decorative surface added after the fact.
