Privacy policy

A plain-language account of what Shokupage collects, why it is needed and the choices available to you.

Effective and last updated: 26 July 2026

Who we are and scope

Shokupage is the trading name of an independent restaurant web design and development studio operated by Jacob in Shenzhen, China. For the personal information described in this policy, Shokupage acts as the data controller or equivalent responsible business unless a written client agreement states otherwise.

This policy applies to shokupage.com, direct project enquiries, proposal and client communications, and information processed while delivering custom website services. It does not govern independent websites or services linked from this site.

Information we collect

Information you provide

You may provide your name, email address, telephone or WhatsApp details, restaurant or business name, location, current website, project timing, budget or commercial requirements, message content, files, contract details and billing information.

Website and technical information

The live hosting provider may process basic connection and security information such as IP address, browser type, device type, requested page, date and time, referrer and diagnostic logs. Shokupage does not currently use advertising pixels, behavioural profiling or marketing automation on this website.

Current enquiry form

The enquiry form shown on this portfolio prototype does not currently transmit or store submissions. To make an enquiry, email support@shokupage.com or contact Jacob through the WhatsApp link displayed on the site.

Payment information

No public online checkout is currently active. If online payments are introduced, the checkout will identify the payment provider and display the amount and currency before payment. The provider will process card and payment credentials under its own privacy notice. Shokupage will not receive or store complete card numbers or security codes.

How and why we use information

Shokupage uses personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and assess whether a project is a fit;
  • prepare proposals, estimates, contracts and project plans;
  • design, build, test, deliver and support client websites;
  • manage domains, hosting or third-party integrations when authorised;
  • issue invoices, receive payments and maintain accounting records;
  • protect the site, clients and studio from misuse or fraud;
  • establish, exercise or defend legal claims; and
  • meet tax, accounting, sanctions and other legal obligations.

Depending on your location, the legal basis is usually taking steps at your request before entering a contract, performing a contract, Shokupage's legitimate interests in operating and protecting the studio, compliance with a legal obligation, or consent where the law requires it. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

Sharing and service providers

Shokupage does not sell personal information. Information is shared only where reasonably necessary with categories of providers such as website hosting and security providers, email and file-storage providers, professional advisers, accounting services, authorised contractors, and payment processors if payments are enabled.

If you contact Shokupage through WhatsApp, Meta and the relevant communications providers process that interaction under their own terms. If a client asks Shokupage to connect Resy, OpenTable, Tock or another reservation service, that provider's own privacy terms apply to information it receives.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law, a valid legal process, or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security or prevent fraud. If the studio is reorganised or transferred, relevant records may be transferred subject to appropriate safeguards.

International transfers

Shokupage is based in China and works with clients and service providers internationally. Your information may therefore be processed outside your country, including in locations with different data-protection laws. Where required, Shokupage will use contractual, organisational or other recognised safeguards for restricted international transfers.

Retention

Unsuccessful enquiriesNormally retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact, unless you ask for earlier deletion or a legal reason requires longer retention.
Client project recordsRetained for the project and normally up to seven years after completion or termination for contract, tax, accounting and dispute purposes.
Design and technical filesRetained for the support period in the proposal and then archived or deleted according to the client agreement.
Security logsRetained according to the hosting or security provider's operational schedule and only as long as reasonably necessary.

These periods may be shortened or extended where required by law, necessary for a dispute, or agreed with a client.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability; to withdraw consent; and to complain to a data-protection authority. These rights may be subject to legal exceptions.

Send a request to support@shokupage.com. Shokupage may need to verify your identity and will respond within the period required by applicable law. UK visitors may contact the Information Commissioner's Office, and EEA visitors may contact their local supervisory authority.

Shokupage uses proportionate technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information, including access controls, reputable hosting and communications providers, software updates and limited data collection. No online system is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
